Our staff is trained in basic first aid with emergency kits available. For serious medical situations, we can arrange transport to the nearest medical facility.

Your security is paramount. Our guides are expertly trained in wildlife interaction protocols—always follow their guidance and maintain appropriate distance from animals.

06. Travel & Transfers

Directions to the Lodge
Soroi Mara Bush Camp is in the Maasai Mara, close to the Ol Kiombo Airstrip. Upon booking, you will receive detailed directions.

Airport Transfer Services
We offer transfers from the nearest airstrip, Ol Kiombo Airstrip, which is approximately an 8-minute drive from the camp. Airstrip transfers are included when booking on our Ground Package option.

Nearest Airport Information
The nearest major international airport is Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. From there, guests can transfer to Wilson Airport and take a domestic flight to Ol Kiombo Airstrip.

Suggested Packing List
We recommend packing comfortable clothing, sturdy shoes, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, flashlight, binoculars, and a good camera with extra batteries and memory cards.

Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit the Maasai Mara is during the Great Migration, from July to October. However, the Maasai Mara is a year-round destination with excellent wildlife viewing throughout the year.

11. Tipping Guidelines

Recommended Tipping for Guides
It is customary to tip your safari guide at the end of your stay. A typical tip ranges from $10 to $20 per person per day.

Tipping for Camp Staff
Tipping the camp staff is also appreciated. We recommend leaving a tip of $5 to $10 per person per day, which can be placed in the communal tip box at reception. Notes dated prior to 2006 are not accepted in Kenya.
